Welcome to Next To Arrive, SEPTA's newest customer travel feature offering Regional Rail riders real-time, point to point, schedule train information for trips between any two stations on our Regional Rail system.

Getting your customized schedule is simple:

Select your Beginning and Destination Stations from the drop down menu. Click on Submit and Next to Arrive (NTA) will give you the next four train options to complete this trip

Depending on your start and end destinations, the results display page will show either direct trips or trips that require a connection to another train

What You Will See On The Results Display Page

Trip summary: A reminder showing the selected trip appears at the top of the page

Train #: Corresponds to the train number shown in the printed timetables and service information posted on TrainView

Line: Identifies the Regional Rail service that you will use to complete a trip. If your trip includes a connection, the Regional Rail line for the second part of your trip will also be displayed

Departs: Identifies the time the train will leave from the station shown at the top of the page. If your trip includes a connection, the departure time for the second train will also appear

Arrives: Identifies the time the train will arrive at your destination station. If your trip includes a connection, the time of arrival at your final destination will also be shown

Connect At: Indicates the station where you will make your train connection

Status: The real-time train status will show as either On-Time or the number of minutes the train is delayed

What You Need To Know About Next To Arrive

NTA is based on real time schedule information and will show the trips closest to the time you submit a request. If there are no trains ready to depart, then trip options based on scheduled train departures will be provided.

Train connections will always have a minimum layover of 10 minutes between the arrival of your first train and the departure of the second train to ensure that you can safely get from one boarding location to another

Connecting trips take the status (minutes late) of the first train into consideration, so NTA will never suggest a connection that can not be made

NTA will recommend a connection at a station offering the greatest number of customer amenities. There may be other connection options that the results page will not suggest

The results page also shows the real time status of each train and any current Regional Rail Travel Alerts posted on the SEPTA website. We recommend that you check back to see the most current service status if one of your trip options includes a train scheduled or you can get information on train status from TrainView or SEPTA's Twitter site

Other Important Regional Rail Service Information

In the event of a significant delay on a regularly scheduled train you may see the word "SUSPEND" in the status column. This may mean the train is temporarily canceled while we work on a problem or it may mean the train will not continue operation. In that case, you may see a listing for another train with a different origination point and the same train number with a "P" after it, i.e., 6353P. The "P" means that SEPTA has sent another train to pick up customers to complete the original train's journey. If a train has been "suspended" it will not appear as the second train of a connecting trip

SEPTA operates 13 rail lines that travel to destinations across the region. Some of these trains operate on SEPTA controlled track and some on Amtrak territory. Our Regional Rail Control Center can "see" all of the trains traveling on SEPTA territory in real time, so the status information posted on TrainView is also in real time. Train status for service originating from Amtrak territory - Newark, DE, Trenton, NJ, and Thorndale - is estimated times, since the Control Center cannot "see" the actual movement of these trains. The Control Center receives updated reports about these trains and that information is published on TrainView.
